Last night we watched Fellini's Roma. What an unbelievably imaginative film! Seriously. I loved it, especially for its outright defiance of convention, being plotless and devoid of protagonists or antagonists: nobody wants anything in this picture and nobody gets in the way of anybody getting what they want; there are no obstacles and nothing is at stake; there are no character arcs, and no three act structure; it's brilliant!
